This book Cliffhanger is one if the best books I have read this year, it about a young boy named Tim who does not like sports but his dad makes him go to an adventure holiday. It is manly written in the adventure genre. It is written for children from ages 7 onwards. At the beginning Tim’s dad is trying to persuade Tim that an adventure holiday would be great fun, but his mum is not too sure. Your attention is caught in the middle of the first chapter when Tim arrives at the adventure holiday.
The books then goes onto describe how Tim goes from being teased and then becoming a hero. I really liked the part of the story when Tim has a brilliant idea. The way the author has written the story is good because it makes you want to read on to find out if he overcomes his dislikes and fears of sports. I would recommend this book to my eight year old sister as she enjoys adventure stories and likes Jacqueline Wilson’s books. If you read one adventure story this year make sure this is the one.
